Title: Emergency Heritage Response Workshop

Date: November 3, 2023

Location: The Georgia Archives, 5800 Jonesboro Rd.

Time: 10 am – 4 pm

Fee: $20

Georgia Heritage Responders invites all archivists, librarians, museum collections personnel, students, and any other individuals responsible for creating/implementing Heritage Emergency plans to attend a Heritage Emergency Response Training focused on planning and implementing a water emergency response plan.

The training will consist of a full day on November 3 from 10 am to 4 pm, at the Georgia Archives in Morrow, Georgia. Lunch will be provided. The cost is $20, and there are 25 spots available. The morning will be presentations on process/procedure, followed by lunch, and then a hands-on group activity to triage materials from a simulated water disaster.

We encourage you to wear comfortable, casual clothing and closed-toe shoes. We will be dealing with water-logged materials while standing and moving around for most of the afternoon. Interested individuals are encouraged, but not required, to complete the free online Incident Command Structure Course through FEMA before the training if they have not done so previously.

This workshop is co-sponsored by the Friends of Georgia Archives and History
