From Researching to Publishing: A How-To Event at the Georgia Archives

When your history research is complete, how do you share it with others?  The Friends of the Georgia Archives (FOGAH) presents a one-day consortium of history-focused researchers, writers, and publishers to explore this question.  Perhaps you want to effectively package your memoir or genealogy discoveries simply to share with family, or maybe you have a wider audience in mind for an article or book on a history topic.  This gathering will inspire you and help you learn about various publishing avenues, and will feature both authors and publishers who can help you on your writing journey. The free registration for the event can be found at this link: https://forms.office.com/r/SpzUhgCYQ9

This event will be held on August 23, 2025 from 10 AM to 3:30 PM. All sessions will be at the Georgia Archives (5800 Jonesboro Road, Morrow, GA 30260).

The day begins with a presentation on writing articles, followed by a session on marketing your work. During lunch, vendors representing various historical groups and publishers will be in the archives’ lobby. After lunch, a panel of authors will be speaking about how to self-publish your work. Finally, at the end of the day, FOGAH members can sign up for an exclusive tour of the Georgia Archives. More information about joining FOGAH can be found here: https://fogah.org/membership/

This event is made possible thanks to support from the Georgia Archives and the Clayton County Tourism Authority.
